Encoder Settings¶
This section contains notes on encoder setup. These notes are intended as a guideline and do not necessarily reflect the most recent software version of each encoder. If your encoder is not mentioned, please refer to your manual.

Digital Rapids¶
Set the encoder to use Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) for live streams.
For the DR SelenioFlex:

Elemental Live¶
Set the encoder to use Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) for live streams.


Unchecking Use Event Start Date
in the Timecode Config
and setting Timestamp Offset
to be Jan 1 1970
will set the encoder to use UTC, starting with the Unix epoch.
Unchecking Use Event id
will allow ‘restart-on-encoder-reconnect’ to work
seamlessly within the same publishing point.
Also, Timecode Insertion
should be enabled per stream, as shown below:

Expression Encoder 4 SP1¶
Set the encoder to use Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) for live streams.
Use the following parameters:
Video codec | H264 Baseline |
---|---|
Key frame period | 2880 ms |
Frame rate | custom @ 25 fps |
Audio codec | MPEG4-AAC |
Sampling rate | 48KHz or 32 KHz |
If you plan on encoding live streams with Expression Encoder 4 you also have to configure what you return as the Server HTTP response Header. The default is Full which sends information about the OS-type and compiled in modules.
In your /etc/apache2/conf.d/security
:
ServerTokens Full

Envivio 4Caster¶

Use the following parameters:
